What We Offer

The Library has the following service units.

RESERVATION

Library provides lending service to both the faculty and students. All the books are bar coded and barcode scanners are used for issue and return of the books. Bar Coded ID cards are issued to all the library members. The student members of the library can borrow books for a period of 15 days. The faculty can borrow 20 books and return the same at the end of the particular semester. The users are requested to return the borrowed books to the library on or before the due date to avoid the penalty of Over Due Charges. Members are requested to obtain the NO DUE CERTIFICATE from the library at the end of the course or service.

REFERENCE SERVICE

Library has a rich collection of books in reference section for its users. Previous year question papers, Dictionaries, Atlas, Encyclopedias& Handbooks are available for Reference.



REFERRAL SERVICE

Students in need of depth & diverged information will be referred to use other reputed libraries like IISc, ISRO, NAL, IIMB etc. Our Library has taken the Institutional Membership of ICAST, NAL (Information Centre for Aerospace Science & Technology, National Aerospace Laboratories).







CIRCULATION

The Library Circulation System is automated using Libsoft 9.5 Software OPAC. Barcoded ID Cards have been issued to all the Members.

RENEWALS

Renewals are allowed only when there is no claim by others.

RECALLS

A borrowed book if recalled by the Librarian has to be returned immediately







PHOTOCOPY SERVICES

A Photocopier has been added to Library for the benefit of users.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The available e- material in the SINDHI digital library can be accessed by logging into the digital library and selecting material Category Digital library.

NPTEL

NPTEL is an acronym for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams.

Inter-Library Loan

The Central Library offers Inter-Library-Loan service to its users for the books and periodicals articles not available in the library by procuring them from DELNET, New Delhi. The Central Library, in turn, also lends its resources to the libraries of other government and academic Institutions on reciprocal basis.

Collaborative Study Service

We had arranged separate section to students for reading/doing home works/group projects/ discussions/ seminars/collaborative works etc. Laptops/Mobiles/Note Books are allowed except Food items and Personal Bags. Faculty can have group discussions / project viva of students /Any Competitive quizzes with these students can avoid sitting outside.

Interaction Service (Message Alert)

This service includes the following: • Alert to renew Library materials before due date. • Reminder to return/renew overdue Library Documents. • Reserved books return Notice. • Reserved book collect Notice. • Weekly New Arrival alert.

E-Question Paper Service

All the question papers of exams are scanned and e-question papers are uploaded in the intranet. users can access the question papers from their desktops anywhere in the campus The, Users can save the question papers on their CD’s/pen drives.

Bulletin Board Service

Through this service users are made aware of the new library services, facilities, current events, paper clippings on Employment News, Placement tips etc.

New Arrivals

New Arrivals provide latest additions to the library. Newly arrived books are displayed in the New Arrival Rack placed at the entrance of the library.

Photocopy Service

Photocopying of materials available in the library is provided on payment basis. This service is for SNIST Faculty, Students and Staff only. Please remember that photocopying a complete document is violation of copyright act.

Circulation

Registered members can issue books for home study except reference during circulation hours. Issued books can also be renewed online subject to the reservation against the book and max. Limit.
